VISION

"I come from proud a family that has been involved with public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety - especially getting guns off the streets, a top priority. With nearly a decade of government experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done."
LIST OF ISSUES
Education

We must address the vast number of citizens living at or below the poverty line in our community.  Many live at or below the poverty line while working five to six days a week.  Creating partnership programs with ASU and those in the educational field such as paraprofessionals, custodians, coaches, and secretaries to go back to school and finish their degree so they can move beyond minimum to maximum income potential through scholarships if they will work and live in Albany, Dougherty County.  Albany Technical College has programs where after six months of training a person can begin making as much as six-ty five thousand dollars a year.

Positive Youth Programs

We must do a better job of investing in our youth.  We envision turning Albany, Dougherty County into an AAU Community where we build facilities to host youths sports such as basketball, swimming, track, volleyball, and soccer.  These AAU facilities will be able to host multiple games of the same sport at the same time.  These facilities would be used to host large after school tutorial programs.  Whenever kids are in positive programs which reinforce reading, writing, mathematics, citizenship, teamwork, respect, and good behavior the end product is always better.  We will have children from other counties coming to Albany, Dougherty County to compete which will increase revenue in our county.  We can combat crime by having children in uplifting and nurturing environments.

Housing

The population has steadily declined over the past eight years under the current administration with no plans or strategies to turn it around.   Our vision is that the County gets into the business of addressing housing by partnering with USDA and developers to increase the housing stock and thereby increasing the tax base.  Oftentimes, people move into communities that are growing and where they see new construction.  We cannot afford to continue balancing the budget on the current property owners' back.  We need more good, decent, safe, and affordable housing.  Albany, Dougherty County is known as the rental capital of the south.  We can create homeownership programs with incentives for those in Public Service.

Economic Development

The easiest way to grow Albany, Dougherty County is by growing Albany State University and Albany Technical College.  Let's turn our community into a University and College town by attracting bright students across our state and the world.  We can partner with Albany State and Albany Tech for additional student housing.  We can increase each institution by thirty thousand students with the right atmosphere of housing, entertainment, community embracing, reduction in crime, and quality education.

Public Service

We must provide incentives to get law enforcement, firefighters, medical professionals, and educators to work, play, and live in Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia.  Too many of our Public Service personnel live in surrounding areas while working in Albany, Dougherty.  Creating new housing and giving Public Service workers incentives to move back to Albany, Dougherty through homeownership incentive programs can grow our county.
